This is a fantastic opportunity for lawyers seeking a new and exciting role. Ideally, you will have local government experience, but applications from private sector candidates are also welcome. We are recruiting for a permanent full-time Contract Lawyer (1.0 FTE) and a part-time lawyer (0.6 FTE, 3 days a week) to join our Corporate, Commercial & Planning legal team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services to the Council, managing a varied and intellectually challenging caseload relating to contract and procurement matters.

The successful candidate will work with an experienced team providing legal advice and drafting contracts to support the Council’s projects and corporate plans, including extensive transformation and regeneration initiatives.

Experience
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (CILEX) with at least 4 years PQE, or a minimum of 3 years PQE if holding the Law Society Diploma in Local Government Law or a similar relevant qualification. Experience in local government law is preferred but not essential.

You will be motivated to work within a dynamic team, able to manage a varied caseload, and committed to delivering high-quality legal advice. You should be adaptable to change and able to contribute positively to the Council’s transformation agenda.

Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (CILEX) with relevant post-qualification experience as stated above.
