We are seeking an experienced Lawyer to join our highly regarded Commercial team in Legal Services on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a varied and challenging caseload across the full breadth of contract, procurement, and commercial/major project matters, supporting the delivery of key Council priorities and projects.
You will provide high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of transactions and projects, including:
- Major procurement exercises
- Complex commercial contracts
- Strategic regeneration and development projects
- Construction and infrastructure schemes
- Technology and transformation initiatives
- Partnership and collaboration arrangements
- Funding agreements
- Contract, procurement and commercial-related advice to Council departments and stakeholders
- Other high-profile projects that contribute to the delivery of the Council's corporate priorities
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative legal team, you will manage your own caseload while also assisting senior colleagues on complex, high-profile and strategically important matters.
Experience
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial experience in contract, procurement and commercial law.
Significant experience handling a broad range of transactions and matters.
Experience within a local authority legal team is advantageous but not essential; relevant private practice or public sector experience is welcomed.
