About the Role
The multi-Oscar-winning creative Film & Episodic Studio at Framestore collaborates with some of the greatest storytellers in film today. As a Creature FX TD, you will be responsible for providing a wide variety of dynamic simulations for character-based work, including clothing, hair, muscle, skin, as well as any post-simulation sculpting and finalizing. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating simulation rigs for characters and creatures
- Executing shots using simulation rigs and delivering finished assets to the Lighting department
- Liaising with departments involved in the creature workflow such as Modelling, Rigging, Animation, Lighting, and Groom
- Participating in the development of departmental tools and techniques
- Meeting schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards
- Presenting work for review to leads, supervisors, and clients, and incorporating feedback
- Maintaining ongoing communication with production and leads regarding schedules and deadlines
- Continuously familiarizing yourself with new tools, software, data, and related technology
- Working efficiently both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned shots
Experience
- Programming or scripting experience
- Modelling and rigging skills and experience
- Good understanding of Houdini and Maya constraints and deformers
- Experience working under a Unix/Linux system environment
- Ability to analyze reference material and apply it within a simulation environment
- Good understanding of human and animal anatomy

Qualifications
Relevant technical skills and experience as outlined above are essential. A passion for visual effects and creature simulation is highly valued.
