The Data Analyst will support the development and delivery of data and analytics within the Quality and Assurance Directorate, focusing on Quality & Safety data across the Trust. This role involves operational oversight and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reporting and digital solutions that underpin quality assurance and governance activities.

The post holder will work closely with the Senior Data Analyst, Risk and Assurance leads, and clinical governance teams to deliver complex, high-priority data projects using tools such as Power BI and SQL. Responsibilities include designing and implementing new analytics, supporting service development analysis, procuring and testing new systems, promoting data quality awareness, and training staff on business intelligence best practices.

This role is based within the Risk and Assurance team at Great Dover Street and contributes to the Trust’s risk management strategy, patient safety, clinical governance, and quality assurance efforts. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving data visibility and supporting the Trust’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working as a clinical analyst within a healthcare organisation
- Proven ability to resolve and report complex data and make recommendations
- Experience collaborating with and influencing peers in data use and analysis
- Experience analysing patient safety and quality data
- Evidence of delivering complex reports to fixed deadlines
- Desirable: Knowledge of NHS data structures and clinical activity recording
- Desirable: Experience working in complex clinical environments

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a senior data analytics role
- Relevant qualifications in data analytics
- Evidence of experience in quality improvement, data science, or related fields
- Desirable: Masters qualification or working towards one in a relevant field

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Advanced skills in Power BI dashboard development
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to analyse highly complex data and identify options
- Experience with local risk management systems (e.g. Radar) or clinical governance databases is desirable
- Knowledge of NHS data systems is advantageous
