Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior clinician to join the Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate as Deputy Head of Nursing within the Palliative and End of Life Care service. The Deputy Head of Nursing will provide the clinical leadership for the service, working closely with the wider service management team with the full support of the directorate management team. We provide fully integrated 24/7 clinically effective, efficient and high-quality care to people with complex specialist palliative and end of life care needs, based on current evidence and best practice across inpatient and community settings. Our service also includes a dedicated End of Life Care team providing rapid response to patients in the dying phase and an overnight service (Pal@Home) to support people to remain in their preferred place of care. We are a member of the Palliative Care Clinical Academic Group, providing unique access to world leading researchers in the field. You will have the opportunity to develop your teaching skills through delivering training across the wider Trust. We support our staff wellbeing through clinical supervision as well as multiple team and Trust wide initiatives. The successful postholder will be joining an established Service Management team working alongside another Deputy Head of Nursing and a multi-disciplinary team. The role covers largely the Palliative and End of Life Care teams however also does have some oversight of the Heart Failure service. To deliver in this role, you will need experience of working within multi-professional teams and collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a strong proven track record of inclusive leadership and staff management. You will have a proven history of clinical leadership experience and will demonstrate a high level of organisational skills to facilitate delivery of planned work and unplanned/unpredictable requirements associated with the role.We encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
