About the Role
Welcome to the heart of Kido, where passion, ambition, and people are at the core of everything we do! As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will be more than just a leader; you will be an ambassador for our values and a gatekeeper for our vibrant culture. This brand new launch role offers the chance to build a remarkable career in a fast-growing international company that champions career growth like no other.
You will lead nursery operations by ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the setting while maintaining high standards of care, education, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include managing and developing staff through supervision, appraisals, coaching, training, induction, and professional development opportunities. You will act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing safeguarding practices, referrals, staff training, and child protection procedures.
Maintaining health and safety compliance is essential, including risk assessments, fire drills, medication administration, security, and adherence to Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. You will build strong relationships with families, working in partnership with parents to support children's individual needs and provide exceptional customer service.
Ensuring EYFS and Ofsted compliance by implementing policies, maintaining accurate records, monitoring quality, and leading inspection readiness will be key. You will drive high-quality teaching and learning by supporting curriculum delivery, monitoring observations and learning journeys, and promoting best practice in early years education.
Additional duties include overseeing staffing and resource management, supporting nursery growth and occupancy through parent tours and events, and promoting a positive, inclusive culture by leading by example, encouraging teamwork, championing equality and diversity, and supporting continuous improvement across the nursery.
Experience
Experience in nursery or early years management is desirable, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements.
About you
You are passionate about early years education, motivated to lead and develop a team, and committed to providing outstanding care and learning experiences for children. You demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You champion equality, diversity, and inclusion and lead by example to foster a positive nursery culture.
Qualifications
Relevant childcare qualifications and leadership experience are preferred. You will be expected to act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and undergo pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS and barred lists check as part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
