About the Role
At Kido Schools, one of London's larger independently owned nursery groups, we are committed to delivering exceptional early years education and care. Since launching in 2017, we have grown to 21 nurseries and over 650 employees, with plans to expand to 50 nurseries in the next five years. We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Finance Analyst to join our UK hub team. Reporting directly to the UK CFO, you will provide key technical accounting, financial control, and analytical expertise to support the finance function. This role works closely with an outsourced shared service team responsible for transaction processing and routine management reporting. Your initial focus will be on balance sheet integrity, financial controls, and reporting quality, with opportunities to expand into financial planning and analysis, acquisition accounting, finance systems, reporting automation, and strategic finance projects. This is a dynamic role that offers the chance to influence financial performance, strategic growth, and operational efficiency across our UK portfolio.

Experience
- Leading review and continual improvement of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensuring balance sheet integrity through robust review, investigation and resolution
- Providing technical accounting support and ensuring consistent treatment
- Supporting preparation and review of statutory accounts, audits and regulatory reporting
- Developing and maintaining robust financial controls and governance processes
- Acting as principal in-house technical accounting and financial control resource for outsourced finance team
- Collaborating with shared services to resolve issues and strengthen reporting
- Challenging reconciliations, supporting schedules and accounting treatments
- Supporting continuous improvement of month-end processes, controls and reporting
- Performing analytical review of financial results to identify trends and anomalies
- Developing scalable reconciliation schedules, analytical models and working papers
- Contributing to finance transformation, systems improvement and reporting enhancement
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, acquisition accounting, integration and corporate finance projects

Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and technical accounting expertise. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. Effective communicator able to build strong working relationships with internal and outsourced teams. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment with a focus on continuous improvement and transformation. Enthusiastic about supporting operational teams to improve financial understanding and decision-making.

Qualifications
Relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience preferred. Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards and financial controls. Experience working with outsourced finance teams and shared services is advantageous.
