The Disrepair Officer role involves managing and reviewing disrepair claims and related case files. Key responsibilities include checking and reviewing initial claim information, taking initial information over the telephone, sending files and reviewing expert reports, identifying and processing files to be rejected, and handling routine post, emails, and telephone calls. The role requires liaising with surveyors and other experts, promptly dealing with telephone enquiries from residents and leaseholders, and assisting team members with various file handling tasks.
The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and proficiency with electronic case management and filing systems. Time management skills are essential to work accurately under deadlines. The role also requires excellent research and interpersonal skills, discretion when handling confidential matters, good attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise work effectively. A collaborative team approach and maintaining positive relations are important aspects of this position.
This role requires a minimum of three days per week office-based presence to support collaboration, oversight, and engagement within the team.
Experience
Experience in handling case files, managing correspondence, and liaising with multiple stakeholders is desirable. Previous experience in a similar administrative or housing-related role would be advantageous.
