About the Role
Are you passionate about working with children under five? We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Nursery Education Worker Scale 3 to join our motivated and enthusiastic team at Bemerton Children's Centre. Under the overall direction and management of the Executive Head, Head of Nursery, and Early Years Teacher, you will implement high quality early years practice and provision to support all children in reaching their full potential, particularly in the prime areas of learning and development across all centre services.
Bemerton Children's Centre was rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in February 2022, described as an “exceptional nursery” where “children thrive”, “teaching is superb” and staff “continually strive for the best outcomes”.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all posts are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check with barred list.
Working for our organisation
Islington is a place rich with diversity and culture. As a council, we are committed to challenging inequality and creating a more equal borough where everyone has an equal chance to thrive. Our values—collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering (CARE)—guide everything we do.
We offer a supportive working environment with a focus on wellbeing and development, including flexible working arrangements, a 35-hour working week, and learning opportunities to maximise your potential.
Our staff benefits include up to 31 days leave per year (increasing to 36 days after five years of local government service), competitive pay with a commitment to the London Living Wage, an excellent local government pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, discounted gym memberships, and local discounts from restaurants, shops, and health and beauty providers.
Workforce Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Statement
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable workforce where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to any unlawful discrimination, harassment, or victimisation and actively promote equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We strive to create a culture where all colleagues feel they belong and can express themselves safely and openly.
We continuously monitor and evaluate our practices to identify and remove barriers and empower colleagues to promote equality and inclusion in the workplace.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check with children barred list, qualifications check, and 3 to 5 years referencing.
