About the Role
Mears Group has been caring for residents’ homes for over 25 years, delivering a range of property services including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide. We are currently seeking a skilled and qualified Electrician to join our team working in the Croydon/Redhill area. This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across new build and domestic properties.
You will play a key role in ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and ready for residents through reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment projects. Travel between jobs will be within working hours and never more than an hour’s drive. A company van and fuel card are provided.
Key responsibilities include reactive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards and other electrical systems, inspecting and testing electrical installations for safety and compliance, replacing or repairing faulty components, working independently or as part of a team to meet daily targets, communicating clearly with tenants, maintaining clean and safe work areas, adhering to health and safety policies, responding to emergency call outs when required, and using IT systems to manage and prioritise workload.
Experience
- Previous domestic and social housing electrical experience is essential.
- Experience with inspection and testing (2391 or equivalent, 2394/2395 preferable).

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations including AM2.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (candidates with 17th Edition can work towards 18th Edition).
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record (must be over 21 years old, held licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points).
