About the Role
As a Multi Skilled Operative with Mears Group, you will be working primarily on Void properties preparing houses for new tenants. Your responsibilities will include larger jobs such as bathroom and kitchen fittings alongside smaller reactive repairs and maintenance tasks across a diverse portfolio of properties. You will work from job to job on a planned route, delivering a wide range of general repairs and maintenance services.
With over 25 years of experience caring for residents’ homes, Mears Group offers partnership solutions and expertise in estate management and property maintenance. This role supports our ongoing partnership with Orbit, one of the largest housing providers in the Midlands, East Anglia, and the Southeast, delivering excellent service through local teams committed to the community.
Success in this role requires extensive experience across multiple trades, a positive ‘can do’ attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- Extensive on-the-job experience in multiple core trades including joinery, plumbing, tiling, plastering, painting & decorating, and floor laying (mainly lino)
- Proven ability to deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service
About you
- Positive, proactive, and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A great team player with the ability to work on your own initiative
- IT literate, comfortable using PDA devices
- Hold a full UK driving licence, aged over 21, with less than 9 points and held for over 3 months
- Own power tools
Qualifications
- Ideally hold trade qualifications, especially if you have less first-hand experience
- All candidates must have the legal entitlement to work in the UK
