Location
Remote working with occasional travel to Southwark, South East London.
Hours
37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Salary
£33,000 per annum
About the Role
We are recruiting an Employment Specialist to join our dedicated Connect to Work team, supporting individuals with disabilities and/or health conditions into sustainable paid employment. You will play a vital role in helping participants achieve their employment goals by identifying suitable job opportunities and providing tailored guidance to secure long-term, meaningful employment. Using a person-centred approach, you will offer bespoke advice and support to each client while developing strong relationships with referral partners and local employers. Your ability to engage with stakeholders and understand individual needs will be key to enabling successful employment outcomes.
Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of customers with learning disabilities, undertaking in-depth assessments to understand barriers to employment, co-producing personalised action plans with SMART targets, and using local specialist services and social prescribing to support customers holistically. You will work with multiple agencies to develop integrated support approaches, identify employer recruitment needs, and provide in-work support plans to ensure smooth transitions into employment. Promoting health and safety within customers’ workplaces and working from local hubs and community outreach locations to increase service accessibility are also essential aspects of this role.

Experience
- Proven experience supporting individuals with multiple and complex needs, particularly those with learning disabilities.
- Good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical areas.
- Experience working in target-driven environments.
- Experience delivering services that meet contractual and quality standards.
- Fully IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and Skype for Business.

Qualifications
- Desirable: Level 3 Award in Employability Services Sector or equivalent.
- Desirable: Knowledge of SEQF standards.
