About the Role
Join WSP as part of an expanding Building Structures team delivering prestigious projects across the UK and internationally. You will be responsible for the technical design at all RIBA Stages, working on landmark projects including the tallest buildings in the world, iconic sports venues, historic structure reimaginings, and innovative kit-of-parts developments. Our diverse portfolio spans high-rise, stadia/arenas, urban regeneration, healthcare, commercial & mixed use, major refurbishment, and data centres, collaborating with international, national, and local architects.

In this role, you will develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept through detailed design, participate in tender bids and business development, exercise independent judgement to resolve technical issues, and have access to a world-leading network of industry experts. You will also select a mentor to guide your career progression.

You will work within a diverse and talented team that leads the design process, supports less experienced colleagues through mentoring and technical review, manages risks and technical issues efficiently, and builds strong relationships with other WSP disciplines, external consultants, stakeholders, and clients. You will provide sustainable structural solutions and specialist advice on sustainable design, net zero carbon, MMC & DfMA.

Reporting to a senior team member, you will contribute to some of the most exciting and high-profile multi-disciplinary development projects, supported by a broad client base across private and public sectors.

Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline
- Following a path to Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
- Solid experience in structural engineering design across all materials
- Detailed working knowledge of national codes and standards
- Proven understanding of the design process including brief/scope documents and design concepts
- Experienced in producing calculations
- Proficient with structural design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer & Tedds
- Experience with Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper is beneficial
- Experience working with clients and contractors with diverse objectives to achieve technical solutions
