About the Role

As a fire engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once, from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, including international projects. Your goal will be to enable innovative architectural design without compromising on the fire safety of the building. You will review design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures, present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes to increase building safety. You will be guided through various software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates from the start. WSP supports your professional development and will assist you toward professional registration via IFE and other organisations. The company offers a bespoke programme designed to provide professional skills and specialist technical development opportunities, supported by senior leadership. This includes training in technical report writing, team-specific technical skills, project management (introduction and advanced), influential communications, commercial concepts, collaborative team challenges and continuous improvement.

Experience
Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry is required.

Qualifications
You will have a BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
