As Engineering Manager for the AI Platform, you will lead the core team responsible for building the shared infrastructure powering every AI feature at Flo — from chatbots and cycle predictions to personalized health insights. You will work closely with industry-leading partners such as Databricks, OpenAI, Anthropic, and AWS, going beyond typical vendor relationships.

The AI Platform team is embedded directly in product delivery, collaborating in cross-functional squads alongside the Data Platform team and external model partners. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with about 30% of the work reactive to immediate product needs, balanced against a clear long-term roadmap. You will manage senior engineers using a distributed leadership model, supporting their technical execution, performance, and career growth.

Your responsibilities include translating product and company goals into clear team roadmaps, coordinating cross-pod dependencies, resolving blockers, and participating in architectural reviews. You will provide hands-on technical guidance (~20% of your time) to maintain high standards for safety, medical compliance, and performance. Acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across Product, Analytics, and Engineering, you will also represent Flo’s AI vision to industry partners.

Experience
Proven track record managing engineering teams in fast-moving product environments. Hands-on experience leading or building ML systems in production, with deep understanding of MLOps, model serving, or AI platform engineering.

You have a "Manager-as-Leader" mindset, balancing technical depth with leadership responsibilities. Comfortable operating in agile environments with shifting priorities, you protect roadmap momentum while absorbing urgent requests. You thrive in cross-functional setups and know how to manage diverse teams collaboratively.

Qualifications
Strong engineering leadership skills, technical expertise in AI/ML infrastructure, and excellent stakeholder management capabilities. Experience working with large-scale AI platforms and maintaining high standards for safety and compliance is highly desirable.
