Salary
Birmingham - £54,878 to £64,562 per annum depending on skills and experience. London - £59,268 to £69,727 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 20% is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, along with a range of competitive benefits.
About the Role
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing, designing, implementing, and governing HS2’s Enterprise Architecture to ensure technology alignment with business objectives. This role involves developing and implementing enterprise-wide architecture principles, policies, patterns, processes, and guardrails to embed strategic change across HS2. You will ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities, and technology directions, while creating and reviewing an enterprise capability strategy to support HS2’s strategic requirements.
You will define and support the maturity of agile Enterprise Architecture frameworks and influence the development and implementation of strategic domain architectures including Data, Security, Network, and Integration. Capturing and prioritising market and environmental trends, business strategies, and objectives to ensure alignment with HS2’s technology strategy and roadmap is key.
Responsibilities include developing architectural artefacts in line with strategy, policy, and standards; supporting the translation of business drivers into objectives; upholding architecture guardrails across solution and system design; contributing to the technology innovation agenda; supporting Business Analysts in requirements capture; and providing direction and support to Delivery Managers for IT change delivery.
The role actively promotes and embeds Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and supports organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
Experience
- Supporting the design and implementation of IT services and Architectural Building Blocks.
- Supporting design for complex solutions including risk assessment and remedies.
- Supporting high-level designs for major solutions, managing design requirements, and maintaining audit trails for design control.
- Successfully applying Enterprise Architecture methods and approaches to complex scenarios.
- Using Enterprise Architecture tooling, integration, or notation.
- Experience across full project lifecycle from initiation to decommissioning.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with Business and Technology partners.
- Working in a multi-vendor environment.
