About the Role

Your responsibilities include guiding environmental design solutions, ensuring environmental issues and constraints are key considerations in project design, and supporting technical assurance through production, checking, and submission of assurance evidence for technical stage gates.

You will support the Senior Environment Manager in coordinating the environment element of HS2's risk-based technical assurance, authorise mandatory approvals by assuring contractor designs and construction comply with Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMRs), and manage communication of HS2 Environment & Sustainability requirements to Integrated Project Teams’ contractors.

Additional duties include internal and external reporting of environmental matters, liaising with technical stakeholders and local communities on sensitive issues, and collaborating with other technical specialists to develop appropriate and cost-balanced mitigation strategies and solutions.

Actively promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work is essential, alongside supporting and complying with all organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures related to EDI.
