About the Role

This role involves managing the Supplier contract on behalf of the Project Client and Senior Project Managers, collaborating effectively with HS2 and Supply Chain resources within the Integrated Project Team (IPT). You will be responsible for delivering the assigned scope of the IPT to agreed budget, time, and quality parameters.

Your duties include fulfilling the NEC3 Project Manager obligations, supporting the Senior Project Manager in managing construction contracts, establishing and monitoring consistent contract management, and resolving emergent or systemic issues. You will manage and monitor contract performance, review and accept programme schedules, and proactively manage risks within the IPT scope while supporting mitigation of HS2 programme-level risks.

Additionally, you will undertake delegated Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) duties, foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing, and build integrated partnerships with the supply chain to empower and facilitate high performance.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience of the entire project lifecycle including planning, procuring, design, construction, and handover.
- Experience managing construction contracts within integrated project teams.
- Proven ability to manage risks, contract performance, and programme schedules effectively.

About You
- Strong project management skills aligned to APM Project Manager (intermediate) level.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and plan workstreams considering competing demands of stakeholders, cost, time, and quality.
- Sound decision-making skills based on logical analysis and reason.
- Ability to analyse data and develop strategies with supporting rationale.
- Skilled in influencing and negotiating with internal functions and external supply chain partners.
- Strong relationship-building skills to maintain effective stakeholder and supplier engagement and resolve emergent risk situations.

Qualifications
- Qualification in project management, engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of relevant contract structures, supplier performance systems, risk identification and management, and project schedule management.
