Salary
£71,000 to £83,000 per annum (inclusive of a flexible benefits fund of 20%) depending on skills and experience, plus a range of competitive benefits.

About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager with a Buildings, Fit Out and M&E background to manage the Supplier contract on behalf of the Project Client and Senior Project Managers. You will work collaboratively with HS2 and Supply Chain resources within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to deliver assigned scope efficiently, meeting budget, time, and quality parameters.

Your responsibilities will include fulfilling the duties of the NEC3 Project Manager, supporting the Senior Project Manager in managing construction contracts, establishing and monitoring consistent contract management, and resolving emergent or systemic issues. You will manage and monitor contract performance, review and accept programme schedules, and proactively manage risks within the IPT scope.

Additional duties include overseeing Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) responsibilities as delegated, supporting delivery of client retained third party works, and fostering a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing between HS2, other IPTs, and the supply chain.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience of the entire project lifecycle including planning, procuring, developing, and implementing similar project activities.
- Experience of leading, managing people and working across functions and disciplines to deliver objectives.

About You
- Strong project management skills aligned to APM Project Manager (intermediate) level.
- Ability to plan and integrate projects to deliver target costs, manage dependencies, risks, and project benefits.
- Problem solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions considering stakeholder demands, cost, time, and quality.
- Decision making skills based on logical analysis and judgement.
- Analytical skills to assess data and assist in strategy development.
- Influencing and negotiating skills with internal teams and external supply chain partners.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve emergent risk situations.

Qualifications
- Qualification in project management, engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of relevant contract structures and supplier performance systems.
- Knowledge of risk identification and management.
- Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies, and risk assessment.
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK at the time of application; HS2 Ltd does not provide sponsorship.
