About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of facilities services including housekeeping and patient food services within a zonal area. This role includes managing Facilities Team leaders and operational teams to ensure services are delivered to required standards and within agreed budgets. The post holder will lead designated projects, develop staff through training and coaching, and be actively involved in staff appraisals.

The Facilities Manager will have strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels. They will be accountable for financial budgets across the site and responsible for delivering objectives within the business plan. Ensuring resources and standards are effectively deployed to meet key performance indicators is a key part of the role. The post holder will contribute to providing a safe and comfortable housekeeping service and patient food services for patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital.

The role involves ensuring excellent delivery of cleaning and ward food and beverage services, meeting staff and patient requirements.

Main Duties
- Lead projects within Facilities Services from inception to completion.
- Manage financial aspects of designated cost centres and contribute to business planning, identifying savings and efficiencies.
- Monitor workforce allocations including staff bank, agency bookings, and leave in line with financial targets and Trust policies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements through policy development, audits, and controls.
- Manage staff to meet objectives and provide development opportunities.

- Previous relevant management experience in healthcare, catering, and cleaning.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Experience dealing with the public.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate staff, especially during periods of change.
- Strong commitment to delivering change and performance through effective delegation, monitoring, and feedback.

Qualifications
- Essential: Diploma in Management or equivalent professional qualification in Management Services or equivalent management experience within a service environment.
- Health & Safety awareness.
- Desirable: Demonstrable track record in leading and motivating staff during re-organisation and change.
