About the Role
Joining Sainsbury's as the Finance Manager for Argos Imports offers a unique opportunity to lead financial planning, reporting, and compliance for a pivotal aspect of our business. In this role, you will work closely with the Argos Imports Logistics team, providing valuable insights and analysis to influence strategic decision-making processes. You will play a crucial role in supporting and business partnering with the Argos Imports Logistics team. Your responsibilities will include leading financial planning, reporting, control, and compliance frameworks for Imports accounting processes, providing insightful analysis and commentary to stakeholders, and influencing key business initiatives. You will oversee period end closure processes delivered in collaboration with the dedicated Accenture team, deliver period, quarter, and annual reporting for Imports Operations and FX, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and corporate accounting policies.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the commercial teams to deliver budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans for Imports operations, enabling management to make informed decisions based on accurate performance data. Your role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information for effective communication and decision-making processes.

Requirements

Experience
Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with experience in a large similar sized organisation; retail experience is desirable.
Demonstrable experience in managing corporate accounting processes including period end closure, balance sheet reconciliation, and establishing and maintaining corporate controls.
Proven business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role with strong commercial acumen focused on driving excellent financial and commercial performance.
Proven ability to analyse and interpret financial data to support operational decision-making.
Proven capability to deliver and manage change within a business environment.
Ability to communicate and challenge senior stakeholders effectively, adapting to audiences with varying financial and commercial knowledge.

About you
You are a qualified finance professional with a strong ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and provide insightful analysis to stakeholders. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial acumen enable you to drive strategic decision-making processes and deliver accurate financial reporting for Imports operations.

You have a track record of influencing effectively, coaching and team leadership skills, and experience in a large company environment. You play a crucial role in ensuring financial control, compliance, and business performance excellence within the Imports accounting processes.
