About the Role

The Financial Crime Associate will be a key member of the Global Digital Assets team based in London, supporting the local and EMEA Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) teams in delivering the firm's financial crime framework across cash funds, digital assets, and tokenisation initiatives in Ireland and across EMEA.
The role requires strong analytical and regulatory expertise, with a focus on virtual assets and blockchain-based finance. Responsibilities include conducting due diligence and ongoing monitoring of high-risk institutional and individual clients across various fund types, supporting the design and enhancement of AML/CTF, sanctions, bribery & corruption, and fraud prevention procedures, and monitoring transactions to detect potential financial crime risks associated with digital assets and blockchain products.
The associate will assist in maintaining and reviewing CDD/EDD files, contribute to risk assessment frameworks for tokenised assets, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, support audits and regulatory visits, prepare management information and governance reports, and escalate Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the MLRO. Staying current with evolving financial crime regulations, especially CBI, EU guidance, FATF developments, and digital asset legislation, is essential. The role also involves supporting training initiatives and awareness programs related to financial crime risks and emerging technologies.

Experience
2-4 years of experience in financial crime compliance, ideally within a regulated financial services or fund management firm. Demonstrable experience with fund structures including cash and/or alternative investment vehicles. Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain, and tokenisation models is desirable. Experience with compliance monitoring in these areas, policy and procedure writing, risk assessments, and monitoring/testing is advantageous.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, law, economics, or a related discipline. Relevant financial crime certifications such as ICA or ACAMS are advantageous. Strong understanding of AML, sanctions, anti-bribery & corruption, and anti-fraud frameworks. Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks including FATF Guidance and MiCA is desirable.
