Fire Officer – Fire Team (North West)

Across L&Q North West region with Agile Working (office, home and site combined). Reporting office: Nexus House, Trafford.

Full Time - 35 hours per week
Salary
£40,370 - £51,553 depending on experience and qualifications plus £1,300 essential car user allowance*
About the Role
Join our Major Works Fire Team at L&Q as an experienced Fire Officer within Property Services. Reporting to the Building Safety Manager, you will provide specialist fire safety management and risk assessment services across L&Q. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to our residents and local communities by ensuring fire safety is paramount.
Your responsibilities will include conducting professional, suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) in accordance with statutory requirements, either as part of a scheduled programme or in response to incidents on residential buildings. You will develop, implement and manage L&Q’s fire safety management procedures, ensuring compliance with policy, best practice, regulatory and legislative requirements.
The role requires a self-motivated and professional individual able to deliver a high quality, confidential, and customer-focused service. You will work both independently and as part of a dispersed team, communicating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.

Experience
- Extensive experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments on all types of residential buildings including High Rise, Sheltered, Extra Care Schemes and Community Centres.
- Knowledge and experience working with Fire Safety legislation and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Understanding of fire compliance within housing associations or local authorities.
- Familiarity with Approved Documents and Industry Guidance.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in office and dispersed settings.
- Proficient in MS Office packages; training provided on trust bespoke systems.

- Valid driving licence and access to a car.
- Commitment to working towards or holding a Professional Fire Accreditation.
Qualifications
- Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management.
- Professional Fire Accreditation obtained or willingness to work towards it.
