About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and proactive General Day Cleaner to help maintain one of London's most iconic wholesale markets. This role goes beyond basic cleaning duties; it requires someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, uses their initiative, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for traders, visitors, and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include carrying out daily cleaning duties across market buildings, communal areas, welfare facilities, and public spaces; operating cleaning equipment such as scrubber dryers and pressure washers; collecting and disposing of waste safely and efficiently; maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the day; supporting colleagues with operational tasks; following safe systems of work; identifying hazards and conducting dynamic risk assessments; reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns promptly; and taking ownership of your work area to ensure consistently high standards.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract until 31 March 2028. No DBS or security vetting is required for this role.

Experience
Previous cleaning experience in a commercial or industrial environment is required.

You take pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and have good awareness of health and safety, able to assess risks while carrying out tasks. You are reliable, punctual, and committed to providing an excellent service. You have a positive, can-do attitude and are willing to support colleagues when operational priorities change.
