Learner, group, and progress tracking documents must be updated weekly and monthly, including accurate recording of attendance and punctuality.

The post holder will set challenging teaching and learning objectives relevant to the course intent, agree individual learning plans with learners, set and monitor SMART targets, and provide meaningful feedback on progress. They will systematically assess learners’ work, giving timely and developmental feedback, and involve learners in reflecting on and improving their performance.

Additional duties include providing subject specialist advice and support, identifying and planning additional learner support in liaison with the learning support team, working with exams and curriculum support teams to maintain accurate records and exam schedules, and planning out-of-classroom learning opportunities such as placements, volunteering, and visits.

The post holder will support the development of exciting programmes to help learners gain new skills, qualifications, and knowledge aligned with their personal goals and employment aspirations. They will also assist the college marketing team by participating in key events and promoting courses to new learners and employers.

Other responsibilities include writing detailed course outlines, conducting interviews and assessments for potential learners, attending departmental and college meetings (paid at the set meeting rate), keeping up to date with assessments and examinations, and liaising with the Exams team.

The post holder must undertake and maintain training in Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Prevent, and Data Protection/GDPR, escalating any concerns as appropriate. They must comply with Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers and undertake other duties commensurate with the grade, supporting the College’s priorities and management.

They will be responsible for Health & Safety in their work areas, take ownership of their professional development in consultation with their Line Manager, and work flexibly and efficiently as part of the team to achieve departmental and College strategic targets.

Supporting the improvement, growth, and sustainability of the College is an essential part of the role, along with undertaking any other comparable duties as reasonably required by the Line Manager or delegated deputy.
