About the Role
Commodities Metals and Oil Logistics Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading, and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

We are seeking a professional and dynamic individual with physical Base Metal, Precious Metal or Oil Logistics experience to join our logistics team, which covers a range of products including Metals and Oil. The ideal candidate will operate effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment, partnering with the Business and other core support areas to meet business demands and facilitate new business growth with a key focus on clients, risk, control, and efficiency.

Metal and Oil Logistics is a high-value risk management team responsible for managing physical risks associated with the transportation and storage of physical inventory for the Commodities Business including Structured Finance. The team partners closely with Trading, Sales, other Operations teams, Legal, and other key departments.

Responsibilities include onboarding, execution, and ongoing support for physical metals and oil commodity transactions. Daily tasks involve inventory and supply chain management, liaising with trading and sales on potential transactions, scheduling inventory movements, vessel vetting in line with internal policies and standards, transportation and title documentation review, inventory reconciliation, and liaison with clients and operators.

The role requires daily interaction with traders, salespeople, and numerous control groups across operations, legal, compliance, tax, insurance, and technology to work toward the shared goal of risk mitigation and business facilitation. You will provide logistics input on new trade ideas, system enhancements, and contract language, arrange pre-execution due diligence and ongoing inspections of client or third-party storage facilities, ensure contracts and confirmations accurately reflect agreed terms, and identify discrepancies in legal documents and invoices.

You will also participate in the ongoing development of team processes and procedures to support this evolving business and collaborate as a proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and effectively manages competing priorities and expectations.

Requirements

Experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Base Metals, Precious Metals, or Oil logistics
- Experience with physical inventory management and supply chain optimisation/planning
- Cargo operations experience beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial deal terms, title transfer documents, and Incoterms
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and executing large scale transactions

Qualifications
- Python skills preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
