About the Role
At Goldman Sachs, we pride ourselves on our resourcefulness and work on a variety of high-impact initiatives. On any given day, you could be advising a company on a cross-border merger, structuring an initial public offering of a subsidiary, refinancing an outstanding bond, and more. Our strategic objectives include being the world’s preeminent investment bank—trusted advisor, financier, and risk manager for our clients on their most important transactions. We aim to build long-term client relationships by delivering world-class execution, drive superior returns for stakeholders, and be the employer of choice by providing a dynamic, meritocratic, diverse, and rewarding workplace.

Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs tackles some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on mergers, acquisitions, or capital raising, we work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments. Our team consists of strong analytical thinkers passionate about producing innovative ideas.

Within our Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) Group, we advise clients on a broad range of financial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, joint ventures, restructurings, and financial investments. Key sub-sectors include software, internet, e-commerce, sports and entertainment, publishing, advertising, broadcasting, cable, wireless, hosting, semiconductors, electronics, and hardware.

Associates at Goldman Sachs play a vital role in developing and strengthening client relationships, participating in advisory teams, and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. They gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and deepen their knowledge of investment banking while developing key analytical, communication, marketing, and sales skills. Associates develop financial models, perform valuation analyses, and actively contribute to mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt issuances. They prepare presentations explaining industry trends, assess client situations, provide financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Associates coordinate teams of advisers, attorneys, and bankers, lead due diligence processes, and participate in negotiating legal documentation. From maintaining client communication to structuring transactions, associates are integral to Goldman Sachs’ banking teams.
