About the Role
Join Southwark Governor Services as a Governor Development Advisor and play a pivotal role in supporting the traded service delivered by the Southwark Governor Services Team within the Education Service. This outward-facing role involves working directly with schools, governors, and clerks to ensure high standards of governance and compliance across Southwark schools. You will contribute to strengthening governance and empowering governing boards to improve outcomes for children and young people. The role involves approximately 60 governor meetings per year, often held outside normal working hours and concentrated at points during the school term. Flexible working arrangements include a mix of home, office, and school-based working depending on business needs.

Experience
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance, and best practice
- Experience supporting boards or committees in a complex organisation is desirable
- Familiarity with digital governance systems and tools is desirable

You have strong organisation and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Qualifications
- A professional qualification in governance, company secretarial practice, or a related field is desirable
