About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Head of Data & Performance to lead the College’s strategic and operational approach to data analysis, performance monitoring and reporting. Working closely with senior leaders, curriculum managers, support services and Governors, you will provide expert data intelligence to support strategic decision-making, performance management, quality improvement, funding compliance and regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in transforming complex data from a range of internal and external sources into clear, meaningful insights that drive improvement across the College. This includes analysing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting forecasting and performance modelling, and providing intelligence to improve learner outcomes, retention, achievement, attendance, progression and overall College performance.

The role also involves leading the development and effective use of performance reporting, dashboards and business intelligence solutions, working closely with MIS and Quality teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility and effective use across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the College’s approach to performance analysis and data-driven quality improvement
- Analysing learner, curriculum, financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, scorecards and performance reports including Power BI solutions
- Collaborating with MIS and Quality teams to maintain data integrity and improve reporting processes
- Conducting deep-dive analysis into performance concerns and providing evidence-based recommendations
- Supporting self-assessment, quality improvement planning, curriculum reviews and external inspections
- Enhancing understanding and use of key performance indicators across curriculum and business areas
- Benchmarking College performance against national, regional and sector standards
- Promoting a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement
- Ensuring compliance with relevant quality, performance, data and regulatory requirements while promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

Experience
Proven experience in data analysis, performance monitoring and reporting within an educational or similar complex organisational environment. Demonstrable ability to lead data-driven quality improvement initiatives and provide high-quality management information to senior leaders and Governors. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and working collaboratively with MIS and Quality teams is essential.

You have strong communication skills, capable of presenting information to both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion principles is required.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in data analysis, statistics, business intelligence, education management or a related field are desirable. Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements is essential.
