About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Head of Data & Performance to lead the College’s strategic and operational approach to data analysis, performance monitoring and reporting. Working closely with senior leaders, curriculum managers, support services and Governors, you will provide expert data intelligence to support strategic decision-making, performance management, quality improvement, funding compliance and regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in transforming complex data from a range of internal and external sources into clear, meaningful insights that drive improvement across the College. This includes analysing trends, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting forecasting and performance modelling, and providing intelligence to improve learner outcomes, retention, achievement, attendance, progression and overall College performance.

The role also involves leading the development and effective use of performance reporting, dashboards and business intelligence solutions, working closely with MIS and Quality teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility and effective utilisation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include leading the College’s approach to performance analysis and data-driven quality improvement, analysing learner, curriculum, financial and operational data to identify trends and areas for intervention, developing and maintaining dashboards and reports including Power BI solutions, and supporting self-assessment, quality improvement planning, curriculum reviews and preparation for Ofsted inspections.

You will promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making, maintain a strong understanding of relevant quality, performance, data and regulatory requirements, and ensure compliance with College policies, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.

Experience
Proven experience in data analysis, performance monitoring and reporting within an educational or similar complex organisational environment. Experience leading data-driven quality improvement initiatives and working with senior leaders and Governors to support strategic decision-making. Skilled in developing dashboards, scorecards and business intelligence solutions, preferably including Power BI. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide clear, actionable insights.

Qualifications
Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in data analysis, statistics, education, business intelligence or related field is desirable. Evidence of continuous professional development in data management, performance analysis or related areas is advantageous. Commitment to ongoing training in safeguarding and compliance with regulatory requirements.
