About the Role
The House of Commons is a unique and exciting place to work right at the heart of the UK's thriving democratic system. Behind the scenes, the House of Commons Service is made up of more than 3,000 employees who support and facilitate the smooth day-to-day running of the House. They provide professional services to Members of Parliament, their staff, and the wider parliamentary community. The helpdesk is a team of 4 people working in close conjunction with the PMST maintenance team who deal with all maintenance issues across the parliament estate. You will work as part of a team of approximately 3 helpdesk operatives based on the Parliamentary estate in Westminster. You will be responsible for answering incoming calls to the maintenance helpdesks, answering queries, and logging jobs onto the workplace management system. Additionally, you will complete administrative tasks such as updating lists of current disruptive works, answering email queries, and responding to customer feedback.
Experience
Demonstrable experience of working in a helpdesk or a similar highly computerised environment.
About you
You must be able to communicate well with people on the telephone and obtain accurate information about their requests. Ability to work successfully within a team while upholding the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion to deliver high-quality services.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required for this position, but relevant experience is essential.
