About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver, you will drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps across Central London, ensuring deliveries are on-time and in excellent condition. You will complete vehicle checks to ensure the van is clean, organised, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before setting out. You will provide excellent customer service, answering questions, managing substitutions, and keeping customers informed of any delays. When not making deliveries, you will assist across the store as needed. This role involves heavy lifting, including moving shopping containers up to 15kg. You will work in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment, often independently but also as part of a team. Sainsbury’s supports safe driving with in-cab AI cameras to monitor driver behaviour and promote road safety.

Our stores are fast-paced and community-focused, providing outstanding value, quality, and service. As a Home Delivery Driver, you are a vital part of delivering everything our online customers shop for at Sainsbury’s.

Experience
Confidence in driving and manoeuvring larger vehicles is essential. Experience driving in busy residential streets, narrow lanes, and delivering to a variety of residential properties is highly valued. You must be comfortable with heavy lifting and working in a fast-paced environment.
