About the Role
As a Home Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps on time and in excellent condition. You will complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before setting off. You will drive safely across a variety of locations and conditions, serving customers brilliantly by supporting with any questions, substitutions, and keeping them informed of any delays. When not making deliveries, you will assist across the store as needed.

You will build great knowledge about Sainsbury's products, services, and promotions to provide helpful recommendations. Sainsbury’s has enhanced driver safety by installing in-cab AI cameras that monitor driving behaviour to ensure compliance with road laws and promote defensive driving, protecting drivers and other road users.

Experience
You must be proficient in driving a large vehicle in various locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, delivering to a variety of residential properties. Experience driving a 3.5 tonne van or similar is essential.

About you
Friendly and welcoming with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing the best doorstep experience. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical, and high-energy environment. You use initiative to solve problems independently but also thrive as part of a team. Flexible and productive, willing to work across the store when needed, fully trained in a variety of skills. Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology. Able to move shopping containers weighing up to 15KG.

Qualifications
You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points. You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and a driving assessment upon joining. Right to Work eligibility in the UK is required.
