Salary
An allowance of £643.79 per annum is payable for the role.
About the Role
The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames is seeking an Independent Member for its Audit, Governance and Standards Committee. This role requires someone with the necessary skills, enthusiasm and commitment to bring an external perspective to the Committee’s work. The Committee provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of the Authority’s governance arrangements, including standards of conduct, risk management framework, annual statement of accounts, and internal control and audit systems. Applicants should have experience in financial or audit backgrounds, or wider corporate governance issues. The role is not open to current or recent (within five years) Members or employees of the Royal Borough, and applicants must not have a background of political activity or campaigning that could question their independence.

Experience
Applicants should have experience in financial or audit roles, or broader corporate governance issues.

You must not be a current or recent (within five years) employee or Member of the Royal Borough, nor have a background of political activity or campaigning that could compromise your independence.

No formal qualifications are specified; however, relevant experience in governance, audit, or finance is essential.
