About the Role
The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames is seeking a Trainee Tenancy Services Officer to join their Housing Service team. Kingston is a vibrant and diverse university town with a rich sense of community, offering an idyllic riverside location, excellent shopping, restaurants, and a blend of modern and historic town centres. The borough also features extensive parklands and cycle routes, making it an enjoyable place to live and work.
This role is ideal for someone who has begun their career in housing management with at least one year of experience. You will play a key part in ensuring the Housing Service remains regulatory compliant while delivering an integrated housing service to tenants and leaseholders. The role involves managing a patch of approximately 250 properties, working collaboratively with other teams, ward councillors, and resident associations to sustain tenancies and safe, well-maintained estates.
Key responsibilities include providing a proactive, customer-focused housing management service, being visible on estates, offering advice and support to residents, and encouraging resident involvement to shape the future of housing management services. Training will be provided to obtain a Level 3 housing qualification within two years.
The role reports to the Lead Officer, Tenancy Services for Landlord Services and currently has no line management responsibilities. Experience
Minimum of 1 year experience in housing management or a related field.
