Location
London - Hybrid role with working from home and office attendance at Singer Street, London at least once per week.

Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with one Saturday shift every 6 weeks and a rota day off on the following Monday.

Salary
£30,552 per annum (including £27,752 basic salary plus £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

About the Role
As an Independent Victim Advocate, you will provide individual structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments of impact and risk within Victim Support's Service Model. You will make initial contact with victims of crime, explain available services, assess the impact of crime, and receive referrals to provide ongoing support and case management. Your responsibilities include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support. Support involves providing resources, interventions, and information to help service users understand and assert their rights and entitlements, navigate the criminal justice and legal systems including the Victims Code of Practice, access additional services, establish healthy coping mechanisms, and receive practical support.
You will support service users affected by all types of crime and may specialise in a particular crime type or demographic. In some cases, you may also manage volunteers, overseeing their development and case management in line with Victim Support’s policies and volunteering ethos.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with victims of crime or in a related support or advocacy role is desirable but not explicitly stated. A commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and managing complex cases is essential.

About You
You will be dedicated, compassionate, and able to provide tailored support to individuals affected by crime. You should be confident in managing casework, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and comfortable working within a hybrid environment. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children is required. You will demonstrate an understanding of the criminal justice system and the rights of victims, with strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications
Specific qualifications are not detailed; however, relevant experience or training in victim support, advocacy, social work, or related fields will be advantageous. Enhanced DBS checks and background checks may be required as part of the recruitment process.
