IT Team Leader
Location
Based at Lift Greensward, Hockley, Essex (with regular travel to other schools when required). Schools in the hub include Lift Greensward, Lift Ashingdon, Lift Hockley, Lift Pioneer, Lift Plumberow, and Lift Westerings. All sites are within close proximity, and travel costs from Lift Greensward will be reimbursed.

About the Role
Lead our IT service to support great teaching every day. We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Team Leader to guide and develop our South Essex regional IT team across six schools. You will shape day-to-day operations, support colleagues, and lead improvements that help children and staff get the most from technology. Your base will be predominantly at Lift Greensward with regular work across the schools within the hub.
This role offers the opportunity to lead and grow a team of up to four, including Technicians and Technology Support Officers. You will lead meaningful improvement projects such as network refreshes, AI integration, and cybersecurity developments. Professional learning opportunities are available, including support toward certifications like Google and Viewsonic. This position directly supports our mission of excellent education, every classroom, every day.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Previous line management experience with the ability to coach and develop others is essential.
About you
Effective communicator who builds trust with colleagues across schools. Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused. Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle (travel expenses reimbursed). Experience with Google Workspace, Ubiquiti/Aruba networks, or working in schools is beneficial.
Qualifications
Relevant IT certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils is required, with all offers subject to Enhanced DBS checks and other relevant pre-employment checks.
