Learning Disability Caseworker
Location
London Arena, London. This role can be based anywhere in England with travel to events, casework venues, and occasionally to the Peterborough office.

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
Mencap is recruiting a Learning Disability Caseworker (LDC) to provide end-to-end advice casework on welfare benefits, housing, health, and community care to people with a learning disability, their families, carers, and professionals working with them. The role involves managing a live caseload and creating, reviewing, and updating advice content on the Mencap website using Drupal. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate advice casework records and keeping the Information and Advice Hub content up to date.
This fixed-term contract runs until September 2027. Mencap is committed to delivering high-quality, outcomes-focused advice that positively impacts individuals and families. The role requires strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse and inclusive environment.

Experience
- Experience in giving accessible advice on complex cases
- Experience working in an outcomes and impact focused advice service
- Experience using a CRM system and maintaining clear advice records
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills including Drupal and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to identify high-risk cases and implement safeguarding alerts
- Well-developed listening and diagnostic skills
- In-depth knowledge of social care and the welfare benefits system

Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in giving advice or an equivalent relevant qualification in a specific advice area
