About the Role
Are you a creative digital communicator who loves turning ideas into engaging online content? We’re looking for a Digital Officer to help make Mencap’s digital presence shine. Our website attracts over 2 million visitors each year, and you’ll play a key role in keeping it fresh, accessible, and on brand. You will update and improve web content, support digital campaigns, and contribute to meaningful communications across email and social media channels.
Working closely with the Website Manager and the wider External Communications team, you’ll ensure every piece of digital content reflects Mencap’s values and connects with our audiences, partners, and the people we support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping Mencap’s website (Drupal) accurate, engaging, and accessible
- Supporting digital communications across email (Marketing Cloud) and social media
- Collaborating with teams across Mencap to deliver creative, effective campaigns
- Using digital insights and analytics (e.g. GA4) to measure and improve performance
- Helping design and test new website features alongside the digital team
- Championing accessibility and inclusion in all digital content
- Promoting digital best practice and innovation across the organisation

Experience
- Experience creating and maintaining digital content (web, email, or social media)
- Confidence using website content management systems, ideally Drupal
- Familiarity with email marketing tools, ideally Marketing Cloud
- Strong analytical skills and experience using Google Analytics 4 or similar tools
- Basic image editing and excellent copywriting skills
