About the Role
Do you have experience of working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about working for an organisation that drives change? We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated Skills Coach to join our Supported Internship programme team in Ealing. As a Skills Coach, your role is central to the delivery of our Mencap Training Academy. You will support learners with SEN to complete all elements of the programme by providing tailored support. The role is based in the community classroom of our supported internship programme, supporting learners with mild to moderate learning disabilities and difficulties.

Your responsibilities will include being accountable for learner progression and ensuring young adults achieve the skills needed to progress onto paid employment. You will deliver support through 1-1 job coaching, working with learners in the classroom to develop employability skills, and embedding English and Maths learning in the workplace. Ultimately, you will support people to learn the skills required to achieve sustained paid employment.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience of supporting people
- Experience of delivering against targets
- Knowledge of safe working practices
- Knowledge of the sector

About you
Effective communicator with good ICT skills. You will be motivated to support learners with special educational needs and disabilities, demonstrating patience and enthusiasm. You will be committed to helping young adults develop skills for employment and progression.

Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths at grade A-C/9-4 or equivalent (evidence required at interview)
- Effective record keeping and reporting skills
