Our Business Development Team has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Team Supervisor to make a significant impact on helping our business manage its resources for the benefit of residents. Reporting to our Portfolio Lead, you will manage a team of Legal Assistants and Paralegals, focusing on gaining vacant possession and handling escalated rent and service charge debt. Your role is crucial in improving business and customer outcomes while minimising risk and spend. N.B Please note this role will be known internally as Legal Services Team Leader. How you'll do it Our Business Development Team works alongside our resident-facing colleagues and managers across supported and temporary housing to deliver excellent services in quality homes and places. Main responsibilities include: Lead and empower a team of Legal Assistants and Paralegals to ensure casework is delivered to a high-quality standard and is managed effectively Manage a caseload of legal cases as required, providing specialist advice Monitoring your team's caseloads to ensure that key performance indicators and reporting requirements are met Collaborate with colleagues to forecast risk arrear cases, lease expiry, and possession Implement lessons learnt and encourage early intervention practices Work with colleagues to design and deliver training to operational colleagues The ideal candidate Essential: Experience of supervising direct reports and managing a high-functioning team Strong time management, report writing, and presentation skills Ability to exercise sound legal judgement and rational decision-making on complex cases Understanding of applicable legislation and the Civil Procedure Rules Understanding of legal matters in order to give a team effective direction Desirable: Experience working within a legal department Good spoken and written English skills Organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail Proficient in using legal databases and MS Office suite Good research skills Ability to work independently whilst also maximising strong relationships within the legal team, operational team clients and third party stakeholders A Law degree, CILEX or equivalent What's in it for you?
