Hours
18 hours per week, permanent part-time posts with set working patterns including full days and alternate Saturdays. Libraries are open 10am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday.
Salary
Grade 2 £29,562 - £30,408 per annum plus fantastic benefits
About the Role

Croydon Libraries is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Library Assistants to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality library services that support reading, learning, digital inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement across the borough. As a Library Assistant, you will be one of the first points of contact for customers, helping them access library services, technology, information and community activities. You will contribute to creating welcoming, inclusive and vibrant library spaces that meet the needs of Croydon's diverse communities. There are three part-time permanent posts available with the following working patterns: Role 1: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & alternate Saturdays; Role 2: Mondays, Thursdays & alternate Saturdays; Role 3: Tuesdays, Fridays & alternate Saturdays. This frontline role will also include some outreach activities.
Experience
Experience in customer service or library environments is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm for working with diverse communities and supporting library services is key.
