We are recruiting a Lift Engineer Apprentice on behalf of a specialist engineering provider delivering lift installation, maintenance, and repair services across London.
This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience while completing industry-recognised training, supporting the maintenance and installation of lifting equipment across residential and commercial buildings.
You will work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to maintain safe and efficient lift systems while building the skills needed for a long-term career in engineering and building services.
Key Responsibilities
Assist qualified Lift Engineers with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Support engineers responding to lift breakdowns and service callouts
Assist with the installation and replacement of lifting equipment
Help with fitting and installation of lifts, lifting gear, and lift wells
Carry out planned maintenance checks under supervision
Ensure all work is carried out in line with current British and European safety standards
Maintain a professional approach when interacting with clients and building occupants
Attend external training courses and technical learning sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
Participate in regular progress reviews with your apprenticeship mentor
What We’re Looking For
Strong interest in engineering, mechanics, or building services
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, engineers, and clients
Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
Strong organisational skills and willingness to learn
Basic IT skills and ability to use handheld devices or computers
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
Interest or familiarity with the lift engineering sector is desirable but not essential
