About the Opportunity

We are recruiting Thermal Insulation Engineering Apprentices for a major construction project in Brent. This is an excellent opportunity to start a specialist trade career in energy efficiency, thermal protection, and industrial/commercial insulation systems.

You will be trained to install, maintain, and repair insulation on mechanical and HVAC systems across commercial and industrial environments; skills that are in long-term demand across the UK.

You must live in one of the following boroughs to be eligible:

·Hammersmith & Fulham

Key Responsibilities

You will receive structured on-site learning alongside apprenticeship training. Typical duties include:

Installation & Fitting

·Installing insulation on pipework, ductwork, vessels, tanks, and industrial systems 
·Using clips, bands, adhesives, wire, or spray equipment to secure materials 
Material Preparation
·Measuring, cutting, shaping, and fabricating insulation materials 
·Working with foam, mineral wool, fibreglass and other specialist materials 
·Forming insulation around complex shapes (valves, joints, tees, etc.) 
Cladding & Protection
·Applying sheet metal cladding to protect insulation 
·Ensuring weather resistance and mechanical protection 
Site Preparation & Safety
·Preparing surfaces prior to installation 
·Removing old insulation where required 
·Following strict safety procedures 
·Supporting work that may involve controlled environments (e.g., asbestos-related precautions, with appropriate training) 

Travel & Work Locations

·Primarily London-based work 
·Some projects extend across the UK and occasionally into Europe — travel flexibility is essential

Training & Apprenticeship Details

·Apprenticeship Level: Level 2 – Thermal Insulation Engineering 
·Block-release training throughout the year (travel and accommodation support is typically arranged) 
·English & Maths GCSEs are beneficial but not essential; functional skills training is provided 
·Full on-the-job mentoring from experienced insulation engineers

About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

·Living in Brent, Ealing, or Hammersmith & Fulham (essential) 
·Interested in construction, mechanical systems, or energy efficiency 
·Hands-on, practical, and mechanically minded 
·Willing to work at height and in industrial environments 
·Able to travel when required for project needs 
·Motivated to build a long-term technical trade career 
 

·Residency in Brent, Ealing, or Hammersmith & Fulham 
·Willingness to travel for work (UK + Europe) 
·Willingness to attend training blocks in Darlington 
·Right to work in the UK 
·Commitment to a multi-year apprenticeship programme

Desirable

·GCSE English & Maths 
·Any practical or construction-related experience 
·Interest in engineering, mechanical services, or sustainability

·National Minimum Wage (age-based) for Year 1 apprentices 
·Progression increases in line with apprenticeship milestones 
·Long-term skilled trade career opportunities
