About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Solicitor/Lawyer specialising in Employment and Litigation to play a key strategic role in delivering high-quality legal services to the Council. This role involves managing a varied and intellectually challenging caseload across Employment, Litigation, and Local Government Law, including high value and complex matters.
The successful candidate will have experience in advocacy and a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with directorates and senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a new and exciting challenge within a dynamic local government environment.

Experience
Significant experience in Employment, Litigation, and Local Government Law, including managing high value and complex cases. Proven advocacy skills and experience building effective relationships with senior leadership and directorates. Experience in local government is desirable but not essential; applications from private sector candidates working with local government are welcome.

You are a motivated legal professional with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work strategically within a changing organisation. You are adaptable, collaborative, and committed to delivering excellent legal services that support the Council’s priorities and values.
Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive (CILEX) with relevant experience in Employment, Litigation, and Local Government Law.
