10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, with approximately 8 PAs for direct clinical care and 2 PAs for supporting programmed activities initially. Flexible working arrangements and part-time options are available in line with national agreements.

About the Role
The post holder will undertake a varied clinical workload including fixed and flexible theatre sessions to cover consultant leave, urgent cancer surgery, trauma, and emergency lists. There is flexibility to tailor lists to individual preferences and clinical interests. The role may include sessions dedicated to the pre-operative assessment unit and consultant of the day duties, providing troubleshooting and ensuring adequate anaesthetic cover for scheduled and emergency procedures. The successful candidate will maintain a wide range of anaesthetic skills appropriate to all specialties represented at Whittington Health. The post includes responsibilities for teaching and training postgraduate doctors and nurses, participating in undergraduate teaching and examination, and supporting research activities. Supporting programmed activities cover teaching, CPD, audit, governance, job planning, appraisal, and departmental management. The timetable will be regularly reviewed and subject to annual job plan review to ensure compliance with the 10 PA contract. The post holder is expected to adhere to GMC professional standards and those set by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Association of Anaesthetists.
Experience
Proven experience in anaesthesia across a broad range of specialties is essential. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to new working practices is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Anaesthesia. Adherence to professional standards set by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Association of Anaesthetists is required.
