Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus Standby rota payments and Overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to join our teams across London and the Thames Valley. In this role, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.

You will prioritise health, safety, and well-being by complying with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines. Responsibilities include reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing or escalating issues, daily planned maintenance of plant and equipment, and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.

You will record work and asset information to improve business performance, identify potential future risks, and recommend changes for resolution. Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and developing staff (including apprentices) will be part of your role. Delivering excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction is essential, interacting professionally and respectfully with all internal and external customers.

All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver, able to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate as necessary.
- Excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilient and adaptable to work pressures and a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, using own initiative to meet design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues.

- Professional and polite in all customer interactions.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent time-served apprenticeship qualification.
- Essential company training will be provided to support ongoing development.
