About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team, delivering world-class building maintenance services across two modern, adjacent office buildings. This role is key to ensuring our client’s facilities remain safe, efficient, and fully operational.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality mechanical and building services maintenance, including fault finding, repairs, installations, and preventative work. Working as part of a professional facilities team, you will take ownership of your work, ensuring systems operate to optimum performance levels while maintaining compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance on all mechanical systems and equipment.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, adjustments, and testing in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and best practice.
- Support mechanical installations, including pumps, valves, air source heat systems, fan coils, and AC units.
- Observe systems in operation, diagnose causes of malfunction, and implement timely repairs.
- Manage own workload effectively, prioritising reactive and planned preventative maintenance tasks to meet deadlines and service standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work carried out, including records, permits, and reports.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Oversee and monitor contractors where required, ensuring compliance and high-quality workmanship.
- Identify and recommend improvements to systems, processes, and service delivery.

Experience
- Strong background in mechanical building services maintenance within commercial environments.
- Experienced in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, plant room systems, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, soldering, fan coils, AC units, and air source heat systems.
- Experience with health & safety practices, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Evidence of competence in managing high-risk mechanical works and issuing permits to work.
