About the Role
As Media Manager, you will deliver the media strategy within a small team to support and strengthen Veolia's positive profile across UK national, regional, broadcast, and trade media. Working closely with the Head of External Communications, you will create engaging stories that promote the Veolia brand, business strategy, and innovation across all corporate functions and business units. You will be responsible for the creation and delivery of proactive media content, including writing, proofreading, and editing, as well as securing media coverage. This role involves managing both proactive and reactive content to protect and enhance the Veolia brand and raise awareness of the company’s purpose and services.

You will build strong relationships with journalists, identify media opportunities on evolving issues, and provide media responses, including out-of-hours coverage and crisis media support for unplanned events. This is a key role in shaping Veolia’s public image and supporting its ambition of Ecological Transformation.

Experience
- Proven ability to create appropriate content for press releases and other distribution channels
- Demonstrable experience building effective media campaigns
- Experience managing a busy press office, including press line and press inbox
- Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key media influencers

About You
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills, able to communicate complex technological processes clearly
- Natural leader with strong decision-making skills, able to work independently and maintain attention to detail under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills

Qualifications
- Degree qualification or relevant experience preferred
- Sector knowledge desirable
- Experience working with environment, business, or broadcast journalists advantageous
- Experience communicating scientific or technical matters to trade publications in support of commercial goals is a plus
