About the Role
Southwark Council is seeking an outstanding social work candidate for its No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based within Southwark Council’s Community Support and reporting to the unit’s Team Manager, you will assess the social care needs of migrants with no recourse to public funds. This includes assessing adults and children of adults who have no recourse to public funds, ensuring support is provided to those most in need. You will also signpost those not eligible for support to other organisations.

You will apply your knowledge of immigration, human rights, and social care to undertake assessments and reviews, supporting the team’s work to deliver vital services to vulnerable residents.

Experience
Qualified social worker experience is essential, with a background in assessing social care needs, particularly for vulnerable migrants with no recourse to public funds. Knowledge of immigration, human rights, and social care legislation is required.

You demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges faced by migrants and vulnerable adults and children. You are able to work collaboratively within a team and with partner organisations, applying sound judgement and empathy in complex situations.

Qualifications
