About the Role
We are the largest local authority social landlord in London, managing 55,000 homes lived in by 40% of Southwark’s residents. Our borough is home to over 18,300 businesses, including iconic London venues and social enterprises, with a young, diverse and growing population.
At Southwark Council, we are committed to making our borough just and fair, taking positive action to tackle inequalities. Our residents and communities are our greatest asset, and our refreshed borough plan alongside the Southwark Stands Together programme underpins all that we do to address racism, injustice and inequality.
We believe our greatest strength is our people. Driven by values promoting openness, honesty and accountability, we are committed to enabling our staff, residents and communities to reach their full potential.
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a 12-month maternity cover role, predominantly supporting our Children & Adults Services. You will work closely with senior managers, key stakeholders and HR colleagues to provide high-quality operational HR business partnering across a varied and fast-paced portfolio.
Your role will include providing expert advice, guidance and practical people solutions that support service priorities, strengthen management capability and contribute to a positive employee experience. This broad generalist HR role involves supporting senior managers with workforce planning, organisational and service change, complex employee relations, resourcing and people management.
You will use workforce information and data to identify trends, inform decision-making and help managers develop effective and sustainable people solutions. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with Trade Unions, coaching and challenging managers, providing clear and pragmatic advice, and ensuring people processes are managed fairly, consistently and effectively.
Joining our supportive HR Business Partnering team offers the opportunity to work across a varied and high-profile portfolio, develop your professional experience and contribute directly to delivering services that make a difference to Southwark’s residents.
Experience
